Maple Kitchen

This is one of my favourite kitchens to date. I love projects that transform existing spaces. This one integrated three rooms that were adjacent and yet felt very separate.

  • Kitchen

  • View from the family room.

  • The drawers to the right of the fridge are seriously overbuilt and can hold 200 lbs. each. They are filled with canned goods and the like. The fifth panel up (the one with no handle) conceals the rarely used microwave.

  • Sink area.

  • A piece of wall was removed here to tie in the sun room and create an eating area that can seat 4 or more.

  • Another variation of my trademark backlit soffit.

  • This small lit display case is built into the corner of the Island. The glass face slides out to the left so the contents can be changed.

  • This piece replaced a railing that had the effect of separating the family room from the kitchen. Now it can be used as seating or a buffet table. Plus it has the added benefit of a huge amount of storage/display.

  • The doors on the left side conceal a collection of cook books.

  • The "sculpture platform" where this vase is sitting is lit, LED of course.
